This is a great time for ETFO-WR teachers to do some professional development from the comfort of our own homes. The ARE committee is planning to host a virtual book study to allow participants the opportunity to discuss and explore So You Want to Talk About Race, by Ijeoma Oluo. This best selling, topical and timely text explores the complex reality of today's racial landscape: from white privilege and police brutality to systemic discrimination and the Black Lives Matter movement. Our goal is to develop critical thinking and raise awareness of challenges faced by racially marginalized educators and students.

Participants will need to order a copy of the book (digital or paper) and submit their expenses to ETFO-WR using an expense form sent after registration. *All virtual Participants will have their book costs reimbursed.

We will be using Zoom to host our virtual book study. Please ensure you have appropriate technology.
