Take Back the Night 2016

Members of Status of Women’s Committee were proud to represent proud to represent our local at Thursday, September 22’s Take Back the Night event in Kitchener. The event includes a rally with guest speakers, sign making, and children’s activities. In addition, participants left Kitchener City Hall and marched in solidarity through the streets of downtown.

This year’s event focused on gender-based violence against indigenous women and welcomed the Waterloo Aboriginal Education Centre and the Aboriginal Student Association, University of Waterloo and Mino Ode Kwewak N’Gamowak (Good Hearted Women Singers).
