Equity Minute: National Indigenous Veterans’ Day
National Indigenous Veterans’ Day honours First Nations, Métis, and Inuit veterans from the World Wars and the Korean War. November 8, 2024 marks the 30th anniversary of this day of remembrance, recognizing the contributions of over 12 000 Indigenous Peoples who served. Despite discrimination faced before, during, and post war, many Indigenous soldiers served with distinction and continue to serve in the armed forces. To learn more and commemorate this day:
