RESOURCES FOR
Promoting Language and Learning for your baby!
Ideas from the Elementary Teacher Federation of Ontario - Waterloo Region
Reading regularly helps children of all ages build strong minds and strong futures.
For babies and toddlers, reading builds brain connections, language skills, and emotional bonds.
For older children, it boosts imagination, supports learning, and helps them understand the world around them.
“The single most important activity for building the knowledge required for eventual success in reading is reading aloud to children.”
— Canadian Children’s Literacy Foundation

For Older Kids:
Let them choose the books, encourage graphic novels or comics, and talk about what they’re reading.
