WRDSB Trustee All-Candidates Community Forum 2018
Educators across the region understand the importance of an engaged and educated electorate. Too often Trustee candidates are not included in local debates and therefore are unable to share their vision or platform with citizens in advance of election day. It’s time to change that!
This year, the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario-Waterloo Region is sponsoring All-Candidates Meetings for candidates running in local WRDSB elections. These events will be open to the public and all trustee candidates for the WRDSB are invited to the session in the city in which they are running. These events will be advertised throughout the region and we encourage you to share with your networks.

This is an opportunity for citizens to get to know you and your vision for our education system! As people arrive, they will be assigned to a table with other voters for the opening remarks and brief 2-minute introduction for each candidate. The participating candidates will each take a seat at different tables and a bell will ring, signalling the beginning of five uninterrupted minutes of discussion, debate, questions and answers in a free-form, round-table conversation. After 5 minutes, the bell rings and all candidates get up and move to the next table.
